A PIECE OF HISTORY BACK IN ACTION

SAVED FOR THE COMMUNITY, READY FOR A NEW CHAPTER
Standing beside the railway for well over a century, Hebden Bridge Signal Box is an important survivor from the golden age of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. The Grade II listed building still houses its original signal lever frame, installed in 1891 and used to help control trains through Hebden Bridge until the box closed in 2018.
Now carefully restored and brought into community ownership, this much-loved local landmark has a new future ahead. Upstairs, visitors will be able to discover its railway heritage and experience the original levers through an interactive signalling simulation, while downstairs the building will provide unique holiday accommodation.
A remarkable piece of railway history, preserved, restored and ready to be enjoyed once again.
